About

My name is Odhrán Allen and I’m a 49 year old Irish guy. I’ve a lot of interests that I’m likely to write about here occasionally such as mental health and LGBT equality. I am an occupational therapist and I’ve mostly worked in a range of mental health and strategy roles so far in my career. I am an international figure skating judge, so I’m lucky that this takes me to lots of different places throughout the year and I get to meet lots of different and interesting people. I am a passionate mental health and LGBT+ advocate and want to see continuing positive change and progress on these and other social issues. I started writing this blog on Friday 10th October 2014 which not by coincidence was World Mental Health Day.

Great presentation today, Powerful message. it was absolutely brilliant in terms of being down to earth , real and highly informative . Your opinion and thoughts on the the use of anti depressants was very interesting and cleared up several burning questions I had.
Thanks a million for taking the time to come into DIT . It was well worth attending the lecture and has made a huge difference in my attitude and opinions towards the many aspects of mental health and also towards the LGBT community.
    Well done Odhran
    Thanks again
